Teen Does Laundry for Local PT – Autism Job Story

You can follow Michael’s job story by watching the video  “Mikey’s Job”  showing him as he does each step in his laundry job.  You will see that Michael has a job coach with him as he works and job coaches must drive him to and from the PT office.  The rest of his work is done at home (as this video shows) or at school.

Michael is a nonverbal young man with autism and some serious behavior issues, yet he is able to complete his work on schedule with supports.  The laundry is taken off-site so Michael can do other activities while the laundry is being washed and dried.  As the owner of the PT office likes to say … “it’s a win-win situation” for Michael and for her business.
