Teresa’s Creative Son – An Autism Job Dilemma

My son recently graduated from High School,  and he loves Legos and builds his own creations and he loves to work on the computer and create videos and he has High functioning Autism – we live near Chattanooga, TN and I saw the special on HBO and I am trying to assist him  to proceed into the working sector in a career where he can be self productive and sufficient.
Any information, or direction would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Have you checked out JJ’s List(http://www.jjslist.com/) and Getting Hired.com (http://www.gettinghired.com ? After taking a look at the websites, you might contact these organizations for advice. Best to you and your son!

You might want to check into job development services available. You probably have a state agency or private companies or maybe even a community college class that offer help with the basics: writing resumes, interviewing basics, how to interact with potential employers, etc. That might make things go smoother.

    Good luck…
