Autism Volunteer Story: Delivering Flowers and Sorting Books
“I had 2 volunteer jobs at Austin High my senior year. One was the Austin Children’s Museum. I sorted donated art supplies. I worked one afternoon a week. I went with Mr. Carter, then by myself for the summer. The other was at Seton Hospital. I delivered flowers to patients. Mr. Catter went with me and I worked by myself in the summer. We rode the bus from Austin High to work. I stopped working these jobs to go to the GO Project.
I worked one morning a week at a city library branch in the summer. All the books taken to the wrong library to there. My sister Sara and I sorted the books to go to the right library.”
